I meant Harman 1972 as he replaced the Coxswain Jack Hunt.

Last met Des at Anzac Day, c. 2019. He was talking to Captain John Stevenson. I assume they had served together long ago. Then met him with his daughter at Tattersall's Club. Took some photos and promised to send them on. Which I did later. Found his address and an item in a local Blacktown or Penrith paper. Des kept fit running and took up social dancing. Feel his AM was also for work among the district's troubled youth. An inspiration.

VMT Tug, as I was not aware of an earlier BEM decoration. Yes, he was very pusser, an inspiration, who embodied naval service values before self.
