For CDT3 and RANHFV, the Corps Tactical Zones given for each month are intended to indicate the general area of operations only. They are not exclusive of operations in other corps.

March 1st
White Ensign hauled down at 0900 and new Australian White Ensign hoisted in RAN ships and establishments.

March 1st
HMAS Boonaroo commissioned at Melbourne.

March 7th
HMAS Hobart departed Sydney on first Vietnam deployment.

March 9th
RAN detachment joined Jeparit at Sydney.

March 10th
Boonaroo departed Melbourne for Cam Ranh Bay, continuing her 2nd voyage.

March 11th
Jeparit departed Sydney on 6th voyage (1st with RAN detachment).

March 15th
Hobart joined US Seventh Fleet at US Naval Base, Subic Bay.

March 27th
Jeparit
arrived at Vung Tau.

March 28th
Boonaroo arrived at Cam Ranh Bay.

March 31st
Hobart on station off Quang Ngai province, I Corps Tactical Zone, for NGFS.

Hobart received enemy fire north of Cap Falaise (first time under fire).

April 22nd
Hobart under fire near Song Ma river (second time).

April 23rd
Hobart left Sea Dragon for destroyer screen of USS Kittyhawk

April 28th
Jeparit departed Sydney on 7th voyage.

April 29th
Boonaroo arrived Sydney.

May 1967

Hobart under fire near mouth of Kien Giang (third time).

Sydney arrived at Sydney: 5 RAR dis- embarked.

Jeparit arrived at Vung Tau.

May 17th
Hobart under fire while bornbarding Truc Li ferry (fourth time).

May 18th
Hobart provided NGFS for Operation Beau Charger.

May 19th
Sydney left Brisbane on 6th voyage with 2 RAR embarked.

May 24th
Hobart under fire twice near Hon Matt island (fifth and sixth times).

May 30th
Sydney arrived at Vung Tau: 2 RAR dis- embarked, 6 RAR embarked.

July 2nd
Hobart on southern Sea Dragon patrol and in destroyer screen of USS Forrestal

July 27th
Jeparit left Sydney on 9th voyage.

July 29th
Hobart joined USS Forrestal which was on fire in the Tonkin Gulf.

August 1967

August 1st
Hobart in northern Sea Dragon patrol.

August 2nd
Hobart, USS St Paul and USS Blue received enemy fire while bombarding Cong Phu railway spur (Hobart's seventh time under fire).

August 9th
Hobart and USS Boston under fire near Sam Son (eighth time for Hobart).

August IIth
Hobart and Boston under fire north of Hon Me island (ninth time for Hobart).

August 13th
Second Contingent CDT3 arrived in Vietnam.

August 15th
Jeparit arrived at Vung Tau.

July 26th
Able Seaman D. C. Trompp wounded in action in Phuoc Tuy province, first RAN casualty of Vietnam War.

September 1967

CDT3: Operation Stabledoor and EOD at Vung Tau; operations in III Corps.

September 2nd
HMAS Perth left Sydney on first Vietnam deployment.

September 6-12
Hobart—NGFS northern I Corps.

September 14th
Hobart turned over to Perth at Subic Bay.

September 26-29
Perth provided NGFS for Operation Pershing in northern I Corps.

September 27th
Hobart returned to Sydney, ending first deployment.

September 30th
Perth NGFS near DMZ.

October 1967

CDT3:Operation Stabledoor and EOD at Vung Tau; operations in III Corps.

October 3rd
First Naval Staff Officer joined HQ Australian Force Vietnam in Saigon.

October 16th
1st Contingent RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV '67) joined US Army 135th Aviation Company at Vung Tau.

October 17th
Perth on northern Sea Dragon patrol.

October 18th
Perth and USS Newport News under fire near Sam Son. Perth hit by one shell with four sailors injured. (Perth first time under fire).

October 19th
Perth on southern Sea Dragon patrol. 30 Jeparit left Sydney on 10th voyage.

November 1967

CDT3: Operation Stabledoor and EOD at Vung Tau; operations in III Corps.
RANHFV: operations in III Corps.

November 1st
Perth on southern Sea Dragon patrol. 2 135th Assault Helicopter Company began combat operations.

November 13
Jeparit arrived at Vung Tau.

November 27
Perth on southern Sea Dragon patrol.

November 28
Perth assigned to northern Sea Dragon,
