ANZAC CLASS SHIPS
MODULAR DESIGN TECHNIQUE

The unique characteristic of this class is its modular design. Blohm + Voss has patented a functional-unit concept of fitting variable weapon, sensor and electronic equipment (plus other ship systems) in modular, standardized containers and pallets.

The ship is designed so that it remains open during construction. This gives access routes that allow rapid installation of equipment.

The same characteristics dramatically reduces time and cost of the removal and replacement of equipment in subsequent refits and modernizations.
