SMH yesterday Tuesday 2 July reported the loss of Sam Sakker on Sunday 30 June. A memorial service will be held at North Shore Temple Emanuel, 28 Chatswood Ave, Chatswood at 7.00 pm on Monday 15 July. Sam was a proud Jewish-Australian RAN veteran. Unsure of his medical sub-specialisation. I served with him in Melbourne 1967. He was decorated for his heroic actions in late 1966 when he gave urgent medical assistance to a USN submariner.
